Kevin Wayne Durant (born September 29, 1988) is an American professional basketball player currently playing as a power forward for the Houston Rockets in the NBA. He is widely recognized as one of the best scorers in NBA history, ranking eighth on the career scoring list. Durant played one season of college basketball at Texas, where he won multiple awards including the Naismith College Player of the Year as a freshman. Durant was selected second overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2007 NBA draft. He remained with the franchise as it became the Oklahoma City Thunder, leading them to the 2012 NBA Finals and winning the NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the 2013–2014 season.
