Nicholas David Nurse, born July 24, 1967, in Carroll, Iowa, is an American professional basketball coach currently serving as the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. He played college basketball at the University of Northern Iowa, where he set the school record for career three-point shooting percentage and graduated with a B.A. in accounting in 1990. Nurse briefly played professionally as a player-coach for the Derby Rams in the British Basketball League during the 1990–91 season before transitioning fully into coaching.
