David Anthony Burke, professionally known as d4vd, is an American singer and songwriter born on March 28, 2005, in Queens, New York.[2][3] He rose to prominence through an unconventional path that began in the gaming community before transitioning to music. Burke's entry into music was prompted by practical necessity. As a content creator for the esports organization Team Limit, he produced Fortnite montage videos that frequently encountered copyright strikes. His mother suggested he create original music to solve this problem, inspiring him to begin recording tracks using BandLab, a user-friendly music production app.[1] Armed with just an iPhone and recording in his sister's closet in Houston, Texas, Burke released his first official tracks in late 2021, building an initial following through the "sped-up sound" corner of TikTok.
