Deborah Ann "Debby" Ryan, born May 13, 1993, in Huntsville, Alabama, is an American actress, singer-songwriter, producer, and director.[1][2][3] Raised in a military family, she lived in Germany until age 10, learning to speak German fluently, and began professional stage acting at seven on a U.S. base there before returning to the United States.[1][3][5] Ryan rose to fame as a Disney Channel star after being discovered in a nationwide talent search. She portrayed Bailey Pickett on *The Suite Life on Deck* (2008–2011), a spin-off that became one of the most-watched children's shows, and led as nanny Jessie Prescott on *Jessie* (2011–2015).[1][2][3] Key Disney films include *16 Wishes* (2010), the most-viewed cable program on its premiere day, and *Radio Rebel* (2012).[1][4][5] She also appeared in *The Longshots* (2008) and contributed vocals to Disney soundtracks.[1][5] Transitioning to mature roles, Ryan starred in Netflix's dark comedy *Insatiable* (2018–2019) as Patty Bladell, executive-produced and directed an episode of *Jessie*—making her Disney's youngest female director—and featured in *What If...* (2010), *Horse Girl* (2020), *The Opening Act* (2020), *Night Teeth* (2021), *Spin Me Round* (2022), *The Resort* (2022), and *Shortcomings* (2023).[1][2] In music, she formed indie rock band The Never Ending, releasing EP *One* (2014) and touring as an opener for Fifth Harmony.[1][5] Personally, Ryan married Twenty One Pilots drummer Josh Dun in December 2019 after reuniting in 2018; they welcomed daughter Felix in December 2025 following a September 2025 pregnancy announcement.[4][5] At 32, Ryan remains active in entertainment, showcasing versatility across comedy, thriller, and drama genres.[1][2][4]
