George Chelston Springer III, born September 19, 1989, in New Britain, Connecticut, is an American professional baseball outfielder currently playing for the Toronto Blue Jays in Major League Baseball (MLB). Springer was drafted 11th overall in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Houston Astros after a standout collegiate career at the University of Connecticut, where he was named Big East Conference Baseball Player of the Year and earned First Team All-American honors[1][4][8].
